Boek – that’s book in Dutch. Why do we know that? Because Blurb is launching in Europe and we’ll be printing, binding, and shipping books out of a central location in the Netherlands. What does this mean if you live in the UK or Europe? Three words: Less expensive shipping.
Starting in mid July, we’ll also introduce several new Web features designed specifically for the European market. Customers will be able to view Blurb books in metric dimensions, and view prices and make purchases in local European currencies.
We’d shout this from the top of the Eiffel Tower if we could. Actually, Eileen might be doing this right now, since she’s currently in Europe spreading the news. We expect postcards from London, Berlin, Paris, Madrid, and Milan.
In addition to offering reduced international, expedited shipping fees, we’re shipping to 18 new countries:
Bulgaria
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Estonia
Greece
Hong Kong
Hungary
Iceland
Latvia
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Malta
Poland
Portugal
Romania
Slovakia
Slovenia
South Korea
Sveiki, Latvia. Bom dia, Portugal. We can’t wait to ship books to all of the countries on this list.

Great news! Thanks for adding Hong Kong to the list!
Well, that’s some good news, indeed!
I can’t wait to see the new shiping prices then!
Also, will you print in Netherland? Or elsewhere in Europe?
Either way, I hope it will work up good and all.
Allez, Champagne pour tout le monde then! :))
Cheers!
That’s fantastic news, and it couldn’t've been timed better, just as our group of over 100 photographers in Switzerland prepare to release the first issue of a new, regular book.
Great news re. international launch. Congratulations! Could you
confirm what kind of trials have been carried out with your chosen
printer? Our group is naturally a little wary of relying on a brand
new service to launch our own first issue. We don’t want to be
disappointed by insufficient print and quality controls, as
have been experienced by quite a lot of European customers at
Lulu.com.
That’s great news !!
Now I only hope we can chose between “normal” post and UPS…
ps. Why no postcard from Switzerland. If you’re going to Paris,Berlin,Milan why not pop across the border to say hello :-)
GREAT!
When does it start? Now? So if I order today it is sent from NL to Malta etc.?
and is the quality the same then?
Please consider adding Russia to your list. There are a LOT of English speakers in Russia, and almost 300M citizens.
Congratulations!
Now that you have tackled this “postal issue” you are definately the best all around (you had the quality anyway!)
Best regards,

Wow ! that’s a great news ! Will European bookmaker will be also able to fix their price on your bookstore as well ?
Hello Blurb,
Very sad to know that Singapore is still not on the list.
I hope it’s coming soon.
Thanks!
Please add Israel.
I would like to buy one of your publications, and I cannot until you ship to my country.
Thanks!
ghismo - We want everyone to have the opportunity to sell their books for profit. Opening up our Set Your Price program to those outside of the U.S. is definitely high on our priority list. Check back later this year for the latest information.
Thanks for adding Poland. I will create a photo album within days and order it.
Piotr
we are so glad you hear our voices…
you really include HONG KONG in your list.
Please add Mexico to your list…. We are a neighboring country, how come you do not ship here?!!
Hi Blurb team,
I am hanging out for you guys to add Singapore to this list. It is fantastic that you have expanded the shipping list so much already. Adding little Singapore to the list surely wouldn’t get anyone in trouble now would it??
Good job on a great business concept. Can’t wait to place my order soon . . . .
Tahnk you, thank you, thank you for adding ICELAND.
It makes my live so much better.
Why no Singapore? Sigh….Can I volunteer to setup Singapore office?
Hey Chee Wee and Sean - We hear you about Singapore. We truly evaluate our shipping methods on a regular basis and hope to have additional information on this front very soon.
Hello Blurb!
I’m excited about this kind of book making stuff. I’m doing mine photo portfolio on my favourite photos. Sadly my country (Argentina) still isn’t listed. I think your bussiness could be great here, because lots of photographers would love to have this kind of service here.
The photobooks market is not exploited here, and also could be GREAT to weddings.
Should I wait to Argentina (or other near south american country) be listed in Blurb services??
Bom dia!!!
thanks for adding Portugal!
Argentina! Argentina! Argentina!!
Thanks for adding Malta! Now I can finally give your software and service a look :)
Three cheers for you!
What is the cost for shipping to Sweden please give some examples….
Wee! I live in the Netherlands.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that prices of books ordered from the Dutch Blurb were expected to be about 5 percent MORE than their US prices.
Any truth to this ?
FYI the Euro/USD exhange is about (at this writing) 1 Euro = 1.36 USD.
Yes it was encouraging as I intend to publish and order many titles?
Hi J-J,
I’m puzzled as to where that information came from. No truth to it as far as I know. Blurb books – no matter where they are printed – will follow the same pricing structure listed on our Pricing and Shipping page. Based on the shipping address, we’ll then figure out what printer prints which book. Hope that helps.
Forgive my obtusiveness but the pricing structure somewhat confuses me …
Would be price of a hardcover, 11×13 book be
calculated as follows:
pages 1 to 20: ??.??
pages 21 to 40: 54.95 USD
pages 41 to 80: 64.95 USD
for a total of ???.?? USD (plus, of course, shipping).
Thank you.
J-J
Hi J-J,
We don’t list those prices because we don’t do books that small. Our books start at 20 pages.
Thanks for your answer …
Now, how do I calculate the price of an 80 page book ?
Is it USD 54.95 for the 1st 40 pages PLUS 64.95 for 2nd 40 pages for a total of USD 119.90 plus shipping ?.
I would like to know as I have an 80-page hardcover order ready.
Is that correct ?
Please note that if shipped from the US to an EEC country the Value Added Tax (19-21 pcent) and possible import duties (which are calculated on the CIF value) will need to be paid by the receiver.
However, if shipped from the Netherlands, no VAT or import are charged.
Thank you.
J-J
J-J,
Our Pricing and Shipping page can help you out here. A 13×11 hardcover book up to 80 pages is $64.95, not including shipping as you noted.
If you have other questions like this, please feel free to check out our Help section and FAQs.
Thank you for your clear answer. When will the Dutch printing & shipping service be operational?
J-J
Hi, Is it possible to send to Brazil???
Thanks!
Sandra
Hi Sandra - All I can say is that we are adding more countries we can ship to very soon! Stay tuned.
Ok, Kathy!
My book is finished, then I’m waiting… Please! :)

Hi

Kathy, Thanks for adding Brazil!
When will the Dutch printing & shipping service be operational?
Thanks!
Hi Katleen - We’re happy to say that it’s operational now.
Happy bookmaking,
Allison
Hahaha !!!
I did not know Blurb was printing, binding, and shipping books out of a central location in the Netherlands.
I wondered already how it was possible that I recived my books so quickly.
(any jobs available @blurb holland ???)
